After quite a long absence, Super Mash Bros. is back at it with their latest track, ¡Holy Guacamole! which I hope means we will be getting a brand new album some time soon…. ¡Holy Guacamole! is a little more chill than what I would like to hear from this duo, but at the same tiem its still a pretty solid track and I really like when BillyJoel gets on the track… Enjoy and I will be sure to keep you updated on any word of a new album….
Donkeyboy’s 2009 album, Caught in a Life was probably one of the best indie pop album of the past 5 years (seriously…. no joke… go check it out!) and now they are back with their sophomore effort, ‘Silver Moon’ that is due out this year… They released their first single ‘City Boy’ back in November which was pretty solid, but not up to par with any of the tracks off of their first album, so then Mats Gulbrandsen took this track and remixed it into a great indie/electro track… I really hope that their next single is up to par with what I know they can produce, but until then here is a great remix to ‘City Boy’. Well usually I would be giving you guys your weekly dose of Dubstep in my “Whomp Wednesday” feature… but I feel that I am going to switch things up today…
Slowly but surely Moombahton is gaining popularity (kinda like dubstep did) and I personally think that it will probably become bigger than dubstep because its got a lot more radio appeal and you can make some pretty crazy remixes with mass appeal…. Moombahton features heavy hitting, tropical/bouncy bassline that sounds amazing on some solid speakers (not really sure how else to explain it)… that being said… below are 4 of my current favorite Moombahton tracks, in order from favorite to 4th favorite… but be sure they are all pretty damn amazing and be sure to keep your eye out for more Moombahton… thoughts on this “new” genre?

Yesterday I posted a mash-up using “Someone That I Used to Know” and expressed how much i am obsessed with to original…. Now i get home from work and see 2 new dance mixes on SkeetBeats and a real nice acoustic version on my wall…. so I think I will just share it all with you. Both electro mixes are not quite as good as the original, but are still damn good versions and this YouTube video is a very interesting version with 5 people playing one guitar… Enjoy!

Back in July I posted Dave Patten’s album, Exposure while it was available for free through his website (HERE) and hopefully you all got it back then, because it is a great album from start to finish. Now, he is back with a brand new track called ‘Just For Me’ which is off of his upcoming album, ‘Gone’ which should be out in a few months. Cris Cab just released his latest track of off his upcoming mixtape that is due out on Jan 31st and it is a very nice track. Teaming up with Wyclef Jean & Sedeck on the production, ‘Put In Work’ has a nice little Latin/reggae vibe to it and some amazing vocals from Cris Cab. I am really enjoying what this kid has to offer and can’t wait until the end of the month…. but until then, this should keep you entertained.. enjoy!
One of the bad things about working 6 days a week is you totally forget what day it is… and this Wednesday almost passed me by without giving you your dose of Dubstep. Luckily I remembered… and also Rusko released his brand new track, Somebody To Love… I love the track and the video is prestty damn good as well….. Enjoy!
Jeeze… how do they keep doing it? I have received 6 tracks from the new indie group, Carousel and I have loved all of them… and this one is no different. Nice easy going vocals, a catchy electro/indie beat and a hook that you cant help but sing/hum to…. what else do you need in a track? Enjoy!

Well I guess I will keep going with the hip hop tonight… Here is the latest track from Olu, who takes some nice Gold Panda production and throws a few verses over it. Off of Olu’s upcoming mixtape, ‘Cover Letters’, 5 Million is really one of his best tracks to date and really shows something promising for this up and coming rapper. Enjoy!

To close this week’s Mash-Up Monday I have a very interesting one for you… PeaceTreaty takes the Lopezz Remix to ‘The Electric Dream’ by Mord Fustang and throws over the very moving speech from Charlie Chaplin’s 1940 film, The Great Dictator. Somehow it all comes together amazingly and I truthfully have listened to it multiple times in a row because of the great instrumental as well as the great speech… Like I said to start.. this is a very interesting track/concept, but hopefully you like it as much as I do.
